Jazz on 2nd Ave Mission, Purpose and Goals

Colorado Jazz Group is a 501(c)3 nonprofit by Front Range residents, for Front Range residents. Our mission is to reach a new generation of musicians and inspire them to love the greatest of all American inventions.

Every year, the Colorado Jazz Group organizes a community-centric Jazz festival in the streets of vintage Niwot, Colorado. For the 8th year running, Jazz on 2nd Ave will feature world-class musicians, local food, and artists to bring together the community; no type of music inspires collaboration like Jazz!

The Colorado Jazz Group uses the profits of the festival to advocate for early Jazz education for our community youth. In 2016 and 2017, the Colorado Jazz Group partnered with the “Vail Jazz Goes to School” program to bring Jazz educational programming to several classes in three local elementary schools: Niwot Elementary, Ryan Elementary, and Sacred Heart School. Programs provide education on jazz theory and bring performers into schools to inspire a passion for music at a young age. Colorado Jazz Group has helped create positive change in the community, inspiring collaboration and togetherness, as well as spreading music education.
